In this blog post, we’ll go over the steps on how to cook frozen meatballs in the Instant Pot.

Ingredients:

1 bag of frozen meatballs (about 1 pound)

1 cup of beef broth*

1 cup of your favorite tomato sauce**

1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning

1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder

Salt and pepper to taste

*May substitute for chicken or vegetable broth

**Sauce substitutions could include: Barbecue Sauce, Teriyaki Sauce, Spaghetti sauce OR put in all ingredients that your recipe calls for if making something with more steps.

Other combos we love:

Pineapple and peppers

Grape Jelly and Chili Sauce

Apricot Jelly

Instructions:

Pour the beef broth and tomato sauce into the Instant Pot.

Add the Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper, and stir to combine.

Add the frozen meatballs to the Instant Pot, making sure they are fully submerged in the liquid.

Close the lid of the Instant Pot and make sure the valve is set to “sealing.”

Set the Instant Pot to “manual” or “pressure cook” mode and set the timer for 10 minutes.

Once the timer goes off, let the pressure release naturally for 5-10 minutes.

Carefully open the lid of the Instant Pot and stir the meatballs in the sauce.

What kind of frozen meatballs can you use?

You can use any type of frozen meatballs, such as beef, turkey, or chicken.

How to thicken your sauce

If you prefer a thicker sauce, you can mix 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with 1 tablespoon of cold water and add it to the Instant Pot after the meatballs are cooked. Cook for a few minutes on the sauté function until the sauce thickens.

How to add more flavor

If you want to add more flavor to the sauce, you can add diced onions, minced garlic, or chopped bell peppers to the Instant Pot before adding the meatballs.

What to do with leftovers

Leftover meatballs can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or in the freezer for up to 2 months.

However, there ARE some questions that may come up along the way. A common question asked is when can I open my Instant Pot lid? Keep reading to learn the answer!

You may have a lot of a questions when it comes to your Instant Pot.

Once you get the hang of it, you will find out how easy it is to use and before you know it you will be a pro- knowing everything there is to know.

But you have to start somewhere when it comes to answering your questions.

When can I open my Instant Pot lid?

First things first. Never open your lid while the pot is pressurized.

You will need to wait until the float valve on the lid drops down so you know that all the pressure has been released.

Once you close the lid and the Manual / Pressure mode has been activated make sure the pressure value is set to sealing to ensure the pressure cooking feature will work.

Once the valve is down and clicks it is safe to open.

If you are doing a natural release, wait for approximately 10-15 minutes and then move the steam release valve to the “venting” position to make sure the steam and pressure have been released.

Make sure the float valve has dropped down and then it is safe to open the Instant Pot lid.

Instant pots are amazing devices that can help you cook dinner quickly and easily. However, sometimes they can be a little bit confusing. One of the most common problems is when the “burn” setting comes on. In this article, we will explain what this means and how to fix it!

Instant pots are all the rage right now, and for good reason!

They are amazing awesome gadgets that can help you cook meals quickly and easily.

But sometimes, you may encounter a problem with your instant pot where the “burn” setting comes on. This can be puzzling and frustrating, but don’t worry – we’re here to help!

What does the “burn” setting on my Instant Pot mean?

The BURN message on your Instant Pot means that the inner pot has gotten too hot. There may be a little bit of food at the bottom of the pot that is burning and your pot will stop heating to prevent your food from continuing to burn.

The BURN setting is a great tool to keep your food from burning or your pot from getting too hot. It alerts you if there is a problem which is great and should give you peace of mind!

Why does my Instant Pot display the “BURN” setting?

You may be getting the BURN message for any number of reasons. If so, go through this check list to see what might be the culprit.

Your steam valve isn’t sealed– Because your pressure cooker cannot cook without steam your pressure cooking process is at risk if there isn’t enough pressure. Be sure to check the pressure valve to the proper setting before you start cooking.

There isn’t enough liquid– You need at least one cup of liquid when cooking in your Instant Pot for it to reach the required pressure. If there isn’t enough liquid your BURN setting may go off.

The pot is not properly sealed– To fix this, simply make sure that the lid is on correctly and that there is no food or liquid blocking the seal. Once you have done this, the burn setting should turn off on its own.

You put starchy foods on the bottom– if adding starchy foods be sure to add them to the top of your pot to keep them from burning the bottom

Your heating element and base are not clean– before cooking always check to make sure they are completely clean and devoid of leftover foods that might cause quick burning.

What do I do if the BURN setting comes on my Instant Pot?

Push the cancel button on your pot to power it down

Check the steam valve to make sure it is on the venting position to release the steam

Check the ring to make sure it is cleaned and undamaged and properly installed.

Check the float valve to make sure it is clean

Check for burnt food

Put more liquid in your pot if there is not at least one cup of liquid

Check everything on your pot and start again

However, one common issue that people experience is smell. If your instant pot smells, don’t worry – we have a step-by-step guide to help you get rid of the odor!

Like all appliances used for cooking- your Instant Pot may start to smell at some point.

This can be unpleasant however, there are things you can do to clean it and help prevent it from smelling.

It might take a little extra work and time but it is definitely worth it to take those extra steps to take care of your Instant Pot!

Why does my Instant Pot Smell?

Your Instant Pot may start to smell for different reasons.

First of all, they are closed environments and don’t have great ventilation. So, if something smells off in your Instant Pot, it’s probably because food is stuck to the bottom of the pot or the sealing ring needs to be clean or in extreme cases- replaced.

How to get the smell out of an Instant Pot

If you notice that your Instant Pot has a strange smell, the first thing you should do is remove the inner pot and wash it with soap and water.

If the smell persists you can do the following:

Add one cup of vinegar and one cup of water to the pot

Roughly chop the peel of one lemon and add it to the liquids

Turn on the “steam” setting for two minutes

Let the steam release naturally

Remove the ring from the lid and let it air dry

How to clean the sealing ring

The sealing ring can be removed and placed in the dishwasher or use warm soap and water to clean it regularly. This should help with the smell.

You can also soak the ring in vinegar over night. Hand wash it or run it through the dishwasher the next day and it should be good as new!

If your pot still continues to smell you may need to replace your sealing ring.

If you’ve ever used an Instant Pot, you know that one of the best things about it is how easy it is to make dinner. But sometimes if you’re not familiar with all the Instant Pot lingo it may be confusing. One term you may have come across but not fully understood is “deglaze.” So what does it mean? Keep reading for all the answers!

If you’re new to the Instant Pot, or even if you are a novice you might have experienced having that blasted “burn” warning pop up on your pot while making dinner.

One common reason for the BURN message to pop is that your pot needs to be “deglazed” which is a relatively quick and easy fix!

What does it mean to deglaze?

You may be wondering what “deglazing” means.

Essentially, deglazing is a process of removing any browned bits from the bottom of your pot after cooking something. This is important because those bits can create a bitter flavor in your food and cause your Instant Pot to relay the BURN message.

When should you deglaze your Instant Pot?

You will want to deglaze your pot primarily after using the “saute” or “sear” function on your pot. Those functions cause food to get super hot- which can in turn cause food to burn off and stick to the bottom of your food.

To avoid this, you can always sear or saute your food in a pan on the stove top. But it is totally doable in your Instant Pot, too!

What happens if you don’t deglaze your Instant Pot?

If you neglect to deglaze your Instant Pot it can trigger the BURN notice on your pot due to the stuck on pieces of food.

How to deglaze your Instant Pot

The first step in deglazing your Instant Pot is to turn your Instant Pot off to help it cool down quicker and then remove the food that is stuck to the bottom of the pot. You can do this by using a spoon or a spatula.

Once you have removed the food, you will need to add some liquid to the pot. The most common liquids that are used for deglazing are water, broth, or wine. Using wine or broth can give an added richness and flavor to your dish. Check your recipe and if it calls for broth you can include some of the called for broth in this step

Scrape the bottom of the pot with a wooden spoon or spatula.

Continue cooking your meal. Post people do this when cooking meats such as pork or roast because you will need to sear the meat first and then add additional ingredients.

The IP is not recommended to use as it creates more of a tight seal. You can also use aluminum foil instead of a lid.

How to do it:

Instant Pot with a “yogurt setting”

Bread dough

parchment paper to prevent sticking (can help with lifting the bread out afterward) or you may use olive oil

Lid (using a lid other than the IP lid is recommended to avoid the dough sticking to the top of it if it rises to quickly- you do not want to create a tight seal. Aluminum foil or a glass lid is sufficient).

Steps:

Line your Instant Pot with parchment paper or brush the inside with olive oil

Place your dough in the Instant Pot forming it into a ball

Put your lid or aluminum foil on top lightly- do not create a seal

Press the “yogurt” setting on your Instant Pot

Select the “less” or “low” setting

Set timer for 30 minutes. If the dough has doubled in size it is finished. If not, check on it every ten minutes or so until it’s finished.

In the baking world, proofing is the process of allowing dough to rise.

This is an important step in breadmaking, as it allows the yeast to work its magic and produce a light, fluffy loaf of bread.

This is often done in a warm place so that the yeast can work its magic and create those delicious bubbles of air. If you’ve ever made bread before, then you know that the dough needs to rise in order for it to be fluffy and light.

Why proof bread in an Instant Pot?

This can be done in a number of ways, but one of the most popular methods is to use an instant pot.

One of the great things about proofing bread in an instant pot is that it speeds up the process. In a traditional oven, it can take a couple of hours for bread to double in size. With an instant pot, you can achieve the same results in a fraction of the time.

Another benefit of proofing bread in an instant pot is that it creates a warm, humid environment – perfect for the dough to rise. This is because the instant pot traps steam inside, which keeps the bread moist as it rises.

You can also set it and walk away without worry knowing it is speeding up the process so you can continue your bread making!

Can any type of bread be proofed in an Instant Pot?

Almost any bread recipe can be adapted for the instant pot. This includes recipes for sandwich bread, pizza dough, rolls, and more. Just remember to adjust the cook time accordingly – most recipes will only need to rise for 30 minutes or so in the instant pot.
